Established in 1960 by brothers Jim and Peter Macken our family run business has served the public and catering trade for over fifty years.
Peter returned to his native Ireland after ten years leaving Jim to continue the business with his wife Eileen. After a further twenty years they to decided to retire leaving sons Rodney and Jimmy to carry on with the business.
The business has since grown and now serves over one hundred restaurants a day, many of which have one or more Michelin stars. Although the trade side of the business has grown the shop still provides a friendly knowledgeable and personal service to its customers.
Our reputation has been built upon supplying high quality naturally fed meat sourced from the best suppliers in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. All our meat is aged on the premises which ensures it is tender and full of flavour when cooked.
